Santa Ana, California, the county seat of Orange County is part of a thriving metropolis. Often combined with the metropolitan areas of Los Angeles and Long Beach, the entire area comprises the second largest metropolitan area in the United States with almost 13 million people.

Santa Ana was incorporated in 1886, the result of a Spanish land grant given to Jose Antonia Yorba and Juan Peralta. The area was originally developed for farmland and cattle grazing and was known as Rancho Santiago De Santa Ana. In area, it has 27.2 square miles.

Santa Ana is home to many attractions such as the Bowers Museum, Heritage Museum, Discovery Science Center, Santa Ana Zoo and California State University Fullerton Grand Central Art Center. The Mediterranean climate averages winter daytime temperatures in the 60’s and 70’s Fahrenheit and summer daytime temperatures in the 80’s and 90’s.
